Puzzle #8: Retail Therapy

                                                     
Hi! Midi themeless today. Clues and answers range from instaplonks (in Puzzmo-speak) to downright odd. There's a bit more (non-obscure) crosswordese than I'd like, so I'm focusing on being more eagle-eyed around fill in general. This puzzle also contains two examples of my favorite cluing angle: defining an idiom literally. EXAMPLE: "Be blunt, like when talking about shovels" for "call a spade a spade." 

In other news: I beat my best time on the NYT puzzle by getting 2:51 on the Monday this week. I've also been enjoying APIH Minis this month.   "The emblem of Queen Elizabeth's  22-Across  6-Across"  Hiya! This was one of the first (decent) crosswords I ever made, though that was only about a year ago. There's a lot of extra things related to the theme, including the shape of the grid! I've provided two versions: an easier one and a slightly harder one with more theme-related things.
