Puzzle #8: Retail Therapy

Hi! Midi themeless today. Clues and answers range from instaplonks (in Puzzmo-speak) to downright odd. There's a bit more (non-obscure) crosswordese than I'd like, so I'm focusing on being more eagle-eyed around fill in general. This puzzle also contains two examples of my favorite cluing angle: defining an idiom literally. EXAMPLE: "Be blunt, like when talking about shovels" for "call a spade a spade."

In other news: I beat my best time on the NYT puzzle by getting 2:51 on the Monday this week. I've also been enjoying APIH Minis this month. If you're just learning about this now, you've got 13 puzzles already! If you're from the future going through my blog archive, then you've got a full 31-day month of minis!
