Puzzle #22: Shortchanged

Image
Hey! Did you know I still make themed puzzles and not just adequate themelesses and acrostics?  Well I do! This one isn't much, but I'm proud of it. Enjoy! Favorite Answer/Clue: Gotta be 8-Across/38-Across. And 44-Down as a quasi-revealer. P.S. Go listen to the soundtrack of The Christophers , a new favorite of mine. PPS: PDF PUZ

Puzzle #21: Loop-de-Loopy

Image
Hi! I have a small-ish midi for the blog today, featuring a clue I've been dying to use. Enjoy! Also, Happy Birthday to Kristen Wiig, Dua Lipa, Tori Amos, and the guy who created "The Sopranos". Favorite Clue/Answer: The one in the middle. Post-Solve Link:  9-Across PDF PUZ

Acrostic #5

Image
Hi! This acrostic was brought into the world for three reasons. 1. I love the quote.   2. I love the series                                                 3. I wanted to use a screenshot from Grand Theft Auto ( No, the other one ) in the post.  Anyway, easily the best acrostic I've made yet. It's so good I'm flipping out over it! Sorry, couldn't help myself! Enjoy!

Puzzle #20: Reality Check

I think this speaks for itself Hi there! Yet another themeless on the blog! I'm really proud of this one and it might be my best yet. Seed entry, if it wasn't obvious, is 31-Across. I'm not sure if people still use it, but I hear every now and then. I'm extremely happy with the NW and SE corners. I didn't like them being so divorced from the rest of the puzzle, but I've accepted it because they turned out great in the end, IMO. Enjoy! Favorite Clue: 8-Down, but 52-Across and 54-Across are close seconds. Favorite Entry: Oh so many, but 14-Across, 21-Down, and 31-Down stand out. Post-Solve Links: 7-Across , 26-Across , 31-Across ,  43-Across , 30-Down , 32-Down PDF PUZ

Some Technical Difficulties and An Update

Image
Hi! I have some announcements today! I've never been too good with stuff on the internet in general but I picked up a lot trying to make this blog. I recently found out how to make direct downloads for PDF and PUZ links, so you don't have to be on the Google Drive preview page when you click a link. I'm going to spend some time going through my archive and changing this. If you're on this blog in the future, then hopefully I'll have done it by the time you're reading this.  Announcement #2: I'll be switching to CrosswordNexus embeds for this blog from now on. I don't like PuzzleMe a lot, but it's what I first used solving on other peoples' blogs. It doesn't have a lot of options for customization (bc I use the non-premium version) and is kind of annoying to keep track of. It also is embracing AI features which I'm not too fond of considering I'm a Ludd-AI-te (TM). I could also use Crosshare, but that would require making a whole acc...

Puzzle #19: It Isn't Perfect But It Might Be

Image
Hi! I've got a themeless puzzle today! It's got a nice stagger stack in the middle and only 68 words! And all the entries in the stack haven't been in the NYT or the LAT or the WSJ! This might be a bit harder than my other themeless puzzles, but it should still be Friday-level. Enjoy! Favorite Clues/Answers: The whole stack, but especially 35-Across + 18-Across, 57-Across, 21-Down, and 47-Down Post-solve links: 14-Across , 31-Across , 48-Across ,  5-Down , 8-Down , 19-Down , 34-Down , Title/40-Down , 50-Down , 51-Down PDF PUZ Constructed by Harrison Walden using the crossword puzzle maker from Amuse Labs

Puzzle #18: Passing The Torch

Image
Hi! Puzzle #18! My puzzles are of voting age now! They grow up so fast... A slightly themed midi is up today. I think I'll put a few of these up while I'm making some larger puzzles. I'm currently experimenting with stagger stacks and it's going pretty well. And if this puzzle wasn't enough for you, I proudly present: *drumroll*  THE (PROBABLY) COMPLETE LIST OF CRUCIVERBALISTS NAMED MATT G. 1. Matt G affney 2. Matt G insberg 3. Matt G ritzmacher ( Un)necessary lists aside, here's the puzzle: PDF PUZ Constructed by Harrison Walden with the cross word builder from Amuse Labs
